Marco Bussi

Graduated in singing at the Conservatory of Ferrara, he specialised with Bruno Praticó, Raúl Giménez and William Matteuzzi. One of the most promising young talents on the international scene, the baritone Marco Bussi, has already performed in some of the most prestigious opera theatres in Italy, including Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, Teatro Comunale di Bolzano, Festival MITO SettembreMusica in Turin, and abroad at Rossini Festival in Wildbad, in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in Cité de la musique in Paris and in Theaterhaus in Stuttgart.

Brilliant interpreter of major works of Gioacchino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He held several concerts of Baroque music with Ghislieri Choir & Consort under the baton of Giulio Prandi in all Europe (La Chaise-Dieu, Royaumont, Utrecht, Bucharest, MITO) with music of Mozart, Perez and Colonna.

He worked with such conductors as Antonino Fogliani, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Kawka and Giovanni Battista Rigon, among others.

He performed among others in: “L’elisir d’amore” (Dulcamara), “Madama Butterfly” (Yamadori), “L’Orfeo”, “Così fan tutte” (Guglielmo), “Gianni Schicchi” (title role), “Stabat Mater” with Ghislieri Choir & Consort, Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” with I Solisti Veneti, “Don Carlos” under the baton of Zubin Mehta and “Divorzio all’italiana”.

During the recent seasons, he has taken part in several operatic productions including Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” (title role) in Nagoya; Pergolesi’s “La serva padrona” at Teatro Comunale di Ferrara; Scarlatti’s “La Dirindina” in Ferrara and Bolzano; “Rigoletto” under the baton of Zubin Mehta (RAI worlwide broadcast); Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo” in Santander, “Vespro della Beata Vergine” in Lisdoni, and “Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria” (Antinoo) at Velodrom – Theater Regensburg, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Cité de la musique in Paris and Theaterhaus in Stuttgart; Rossini’s “Il turco in Italia” (Prosdocimo) and the rediscovered Rossini’s oratory “Mosè in Egitto” (Pharaoh), performed for the first time in modern times at Rossini Festival in Wildbad; Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” (Guglielmo) at Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo; Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia” (Figaro) in Perugia.
He was artistic partner of Bruno Praticò in many concerts of opera buffa duets in Europe and the USA.
