Jorge Jimenez

Jorge's passion for the violin and for the highest quality music has led him to direct international ensembles throughout Europe. He is famous for his exhaustive and exciting approach, playing music in the style and instruments for which it was designed, from the Medieval to the 21st century.

In 2008, Jorge founded Tercia Realidad for which he has created and directed programs presented at festivals and places such as the Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht (FF), the Royal Alcázar Gardens in Seville, the English School in Valladolid, the Circle of Arts in Lugo, the University of Huelva, Albert Long Hall in Istanbul, the Stary Sącz Festival in Poland, among others.

As a violinist, Jorge is also regularly invited as concertmaster and soloist of ensembles and orchestras such as Forma Antiqva, La Tempestad, The Retrospect Ensemble, The Scholars Baroque Ensemble, La Risonanza, Ex-Cathedra and soloists of the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, the Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Flanders Opera and the Orquesta de Extremadura.

He is regularly invited to conduct orchestras such as The Hanover Band, Capella Cracoviensis in Poland, as well as appearances as a guest conductor at The Shakespeare's Globe and the new Berlin-based opera company Kiez Oper.

Jorge has recorded for labels such as Atlantic Records, Naxos, Hyperion, DLR-Capriccio, Lindoro, La Ma de Guido, Prometheus among others.

In March 2018, Jorge will direct the world premiere of his creation “Evensong: The British Vespers” at the prestigious Misteria Paschalia Festival in Kraków (Poland).

In May 2018, Jorge will appear as one of the guest conductors of the project “Haydn Extreme” of Capella Cracoviensis (Poland) which will take the Polish orchestra to interpret all Haydn's symphonies until 2023.
