Thibaut Lenaerts studied singing at the Conservatoire royal de Liège in Greta De Reyghere’s class and at the Conservatoire royal de Mons in Thierry Migliorini’s class; he graduated from both of these universities with distinction. He performs as soloist under the baton of William Christie with Les Arts Florissants, Hervé Niquet with Le Concert Spirituel, as well as Guy Van Waas, Louis Langré, Jean Tubéry or Patrick Davin.

He has sung in some of Europe’s finest ensembles led by such artists as Marc Minkowski, Frieder Bernius and Philippe Hereweghe. He has also worked with the following directors: Robert Carsen, Frédéric Dussenne, Luc Bondy, José Montalvo or Deborah Warner.

Thibaut Lenaerts is a member of the Chœur de chambre de Namur, where he performs as one of the singers and also acts as the ensemble’s leader responsible for artistic preparation.

Since 2014, he has served as assistant conductor to Leonardo García Alarcón. At his request, he directed the Paris Opera chorus during preparations for the production of Les Indes galantes staged at the Opéra Bastille in September 2019.

He received a prestigious invitation to prepare with the choir of Radio France works by Johann Sebastian Bach: Mass in B minor and St John Passion.

Thibaut Lenaerts works as a lecturer at conservatoires in Brussels and Liège.

He has taken part in the recording of nearly 60 albums. The most notable include a solo disc devoted to Fauré’s songs recorded with Philippe Riga accompanying him on the Erard piano (for the Muso/Alpha label), as well as a CD of Franck’s choral works on which Thibaut conducted Chœur de chambre de Namur (for the Musique en Wallonie label).
