WINDS DAYS! EXHIBITION OF HISTORICAL WIND INSTRUMENTS
The exhibition of wind instruments at the Potocki Palace is one of the key points of Winds Days!, a four-day festival of wind instruments taking place during the Misteria Paschalia Festival from 13 to 16 April 2025.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to admire more than 100 historical wind instruments. The exhibits come both from private collections and from the studios of European artists specialising in making instruments modelled on old specimens. You can come across true works of art here – from Baroque flutes, oboes and bassoons, through dulcians, cornetts and serpents, to such unusual objects as basanello, crumhorn or Portuguese gaïtas (bagpipes).
The exhibition is not only an opportunity to see unique instruments, but also to meet their makers and learn the secrets of their craft. The guests of the Winds Days! include renowned artists such as: Aron Vajna, Matt Martin, Mathieu Loux, Francesco Li Virghi, Philippe Bolton, Ricardo Simian, Serge Delmas, Benoît Tainturier and Lore Hillenhinrichs, whose passion and precision in making instruments based on historical models reflect both their mastery of craftsmanship and devotion to tradition.
The exhibition will be enriched by concerts (also accompanied by spoken commentary), lectures and workshops, through which Winds Days! will combine a passion for music with history and education. It is an unforgettable experience for both music lovers and those who are new to music.
