The masterclass with Martin Egidi is intended for young musicians specialising in historically informed performance. The active participants have been nominated through a cooperation programme run by the Misteria Paschalia Festival in partnership with Polish academies of music, making it possible to gather a group of particularly engaged and promising instrumentalists.

The masterclass will provide a space for intensive work on the interpretation of the cello repertoire, with particular emphasis on questions of style, articulation, and a conscious approach to performance practice. It will be led by Martin Egidi, a versatile cellist of the younger generation, active in both early and contemporary music, winner of prizes at international competitions, and closely associated with leading early music ensembles such as Il Pomo d’Oro, Arcangelo, and the Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble.

Let us also invite all those interested to attend the masterclasses as audience members. Observation of masters at work offers an excellent opportunity to deepen knowledge of historically informed performance, aesthetics, and interpretative approaches, and is accessible both to those within and beyond the academic community.
