While obtaining a degree in sociology, Anaïs Bertrand studied singing at the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris and then at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et danse de Paris and with Regina Werner at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig. A sensitive musician, she is nourished by all forms of expression offered by vocal repertoire: from Gregorian chant to contemporary music, or from polyphony to opera.

In 2018, she won the first prize at the Froville baroque singing competition.

On stage, she has sung the role of A Cretan Woman (Idomeneo by Mozart) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival with the Pygmalion Ensemble (directed by Raphaël Pichon), and the role of Juno (Actéon by Marc-Antoine Charpentier) at the Royal Opera of the Château de Versailles with the Marguerite-Louise Ensemble, the role of Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande by Claude Debussy) with La Petite Maison (Camille Doucet and Victor Jacob), the role of L’Enfant (L’Enfant et les sortilèges by Maurice Ravel) as well as that of Dido (Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas) at the Ranelagh Theatre with the Maurice et les Autres company (Jeanne Desoubeaux and Igor Bouin).

A keen exponent of the music of our time, she has also sung under the direction of Bruno Mantovani and worked with composers such as Philippe Hersant, Graciane Finzi, Caroline Marçot, George Benjamin and with the pianist and composer Fabien Touchard in a duo.

She has recorded with numerous baroque ensembles, including Les Arts Florissants, Clément Janequin Ensemble, Près de votre oreille, and the Marguerite-Louise Ensemble, and is also sought after as a recording artist for contemporary repertoire.

As a soloist she has worked with ensembles such as Les Surprises (Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas), La Tempête (Simon-Pierre Bestion), Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu (Franck-Emmanuel Comte) and the Ensemble Maja (Bianca Chillemi), with whom she sings George Benjamin’s Upon Silence, Maurice Ravel’s Chansons Madécasses and Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs. She is also involved in productions by the Ensemble Aedes (Mathieu Romano), which takes on the 20th century a cappella vocal repertoire.
