Etienne Meyer

Etienne Meyer, conductor and composer, embarked on a joint diploma course in these two disciplines at the Conservatoire national supérieur musique et danse in Lyon, obtaining his advanced teaching qualification (DNESM) in 2001.

As a conductor and musical director of the ensemble Les Traversées Baroques, Etienne Meyer rediscovers new repertories from Renaissance and Baroque eras. He has given more than 500 concerts and masterclasses all over Europe in the last 14 years. He also conducted two important opera productions: La Pellegrina (2014) and L’Orfeo (2016).  

He is regularly invited to conduct the Dijon-Bourgogne Orchestra, the Camerata de Bourgogne, the Solistes de Lyon – Bernard Tétu and the Opéra de Lyon choirs, among the others.  

Etienne Meyer is also a choirmaster of the École Maîtrisienne Régionale de Bourgogne (Maîtrise de Dijon). He regularly prepares child singers for various productions at the Opéra de Dijon, and conducted Hans Krasa’s children opera Brundibar in 2015. 

Etienne Meyer is the Knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters.
