Hubert Hazebroucq
Hubert Hazebroucq is a dancer and choreographer specialised in Renaissance and Baroque dance styles. He has performed for artists such as Christine Bayle and Marie-Geneviève Massé. Since 2008, he is the choreographer of Les Corps Éloquents, where he combines repertoire highlight and creation with innovative research. He has been invited to numerous international festivals (Boston, Utrecht, Stockholm, Hong Kong, etc.) and prestigious cultural heritage sites (Palace of Versailles, Chambord, Musée National de la Renaissance d’Écouen) and collaborates with renowned conductors such as William Christie – Les Arts Florissants, Denis Raisin-Dadre – Doulce Mémoire, among the others.
An independent researcher with a masters degree in social dance from around 1660, he has published numerous articles on the poetics and technique of dance in the 17th and 18th centuries and has received three research grants from the Centre national de la danse. As a state-certified dance teacher, he gives numerous masterclasses (CNSMD, Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, Detmold University of Music, Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland, Cornell University – Ithaca). From 2021, he teaches Early Dance at the CRR in Paris and from September 2024 is the teacher for Renaissance Dance at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
