Martial Pauliat
Martial Pauliat trained at the Notre Dame de Paris master’s programme under the guidance of Lionel Sow. Passionate about early music, he founded the Trio Musica Humana with Igor Bouin and Yann Rolland, which initially focused on performing Renaissance music. In 2014, he was awarded a prize for basso continuo at the Boulogne-Billancourt Regional Conservatory in Frédéric Michel’s class.
Martial Pauliat performs regularly as a soloist and in choirs with the Clément Janequin Ensemble, the Aedes Ensemble and the Pygmalion Ensemble.He also performs in musical theatre productions in which he is both an actor and a musician, notably with the Maurice et les autres, company directed by Jeanne Desoubeaux (Les Noces in 2019, Carmen in 2022). In 2021, with the Trio Musica Humana, he created the show Bingo! un loto musical directed by Corinne Benizio, which was a great success in Avignon in 2022. In 2023, he played Phoebus in the show La Esmeralda, a production by Les Bouffes du Nord.
The same year, he created a character of Romy Pétale, a pop music project, and joined Madame Arthur’s cabaret troupe under this identity. This season, he participates in the Carnaval Baroque, a show directed by Cécile Roussat with Vincent Dumestre’s Le Poème Harmonique, touring throughout France.
