Paco Garcia
Tenor Paco Garcia began his musical studies at an early age with the Maîtrise de Reims. He began his advanced studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris in Alain Buet’s class, graduating with honours in June 2017.
A former baroque cellist, early music plays an essential role in his musical career.
He regularly works as a soloist with various ensembles, including Les Surprises, directed by Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas, with whom he sang the tenor solo part in Bach’s St John Passion at the Ambronay Festival, and Le Poème Harmonique, directed by Vincent Dumestre, at the Ravel Festival in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where he performed the solo countertenor parts in the Te Deum by Lully and Charpentier.
More recently, Paco Garcia has sung the role of Monostatos in The Magic Flute at the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse, Caligula in Pagliardi’s Caligula at the Philharmonie de Liège conducted by Vincent Dumestre, Remendado in Carmen at the Opéra-Comique and Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, as well as at the Opéra Royal de Versailles and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, Nathanaël in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Salzburg Festival, conducted by Marc Minkowski and directed by Mariame Clément.
Last season, Paco has also recorded the haute-contre roles of L’Indien and un Sylphe in Les Genies by Mademoiselle Duval conducted by Camille Delaforge labeled by Chateau de Versailles Spectacles.
His projects include Le Carnaval baroque at the Opéra Royal de Versailles and the Opéra de Dijon, conducted by Vincent Dumestre, a Priest and a Man of arms in The Magic Flute at the Opéra de Rennes, the Opéra Angers-Nantes, Gianino in L’Uomo femina by Galuppi conducted by Vincent Dumestre at the Teatro Real in Madrid and Leçons de Ténèbres by Charpentier with the Ensemble Correspondances.
