Perrine Devillers
Perrine Devillers studied clarinet and educational science, then she continued her education in the field of early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where she obtained a master’s degree in Renaissance to Romantic performance. She performs regularly with the ensembles Pygmalion (Raphaël Pichon), Ensemble Correspondances (Sebastien Daucé), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Le Poème Harmonique (Vincente Dumestre) and Profeti della Quinta (Elam Rotem).
With a particular affinity for the Renaissance and the early 17th-century, she is regularly invited at European early music festivals (Seville, Madrid, Regensburg, Antwerp, Utrecht, Krakow, Saintes, etc.). Since 2018, she has been focusing on madrigals of the Italian, Spanish and French Renaissance with the lutenist Ariel Abramovich. With Elam Rotem on harpsichord, and more recently with Matthieu Boutineau on organ, she has explored the virtuoso monodies of early 17th-century Italy. Since 2020, together with Arnaud de Pasquale, she has been rediscovering the repertoire for Sicilian baroque organ. Since 2020, with the female vocal quartet Saman, they have been combining popular music and original compositions for concerts close to the public.
Her discography has been hailed by the critics. The album with Cavalieri’s Lamentationes Hieremiae Prophetae recorded with Profeti della Quinta for Pan Classics received a Diapason d’Or in 2024, confirming the Diapason découverte received in 2017 for their recording of the Carlo G Manuscript (Glossa). Monteverdi Testamento – Vespro della Madonna 1643 with Le Poème Harmonique and Robert de Visée: Suites à la Mémoire d’un Poète with Thibaut Roussel on theorbo, both recorded for the Château Versaille Spectacles, also received Diapason d’Or awards in 2024.
