Piotr Olech
He collaborates with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Polish Royal Opera, the National Opera in Brno (Oberon in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream), as well as with Polish and foreign symphony and chamber orchestras and ensembles, including the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the {oh!} Orkiestra, Vox Luminis, Concerto Köln, Wrocław Baroque Ensemble, Capella Cracoviensis, Solamente Naturali, Ensemble Polyharmonique, Musica Aeterna, Vasa Consort, Concerto Polacco, and Consortium Sedinum.
He performs with conductors and instrumentalists such as Marek Toporowski, Paul McCreesh, Giovanni Antonini, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Andrew Parrott, Jan Tomasz Adamus, Konrad Junghänel, Paul Goodwin, Andreas Spering, Jarosław Thiel, Fabio Bonizzoni and Nicholas Parle and has been a guest at major music festivals in almost every part of Europe. He also greatly values his ongoing collaboration with the Collegium Vocale Gent ensemble and Philippe Herreweghe.
The artist is particularly fond of performing Baroque music, but his repertoire includes also classical, early Romantic and contemporary works. He has participated in CD recordings (over 50 albums) for such labels as CD Accord, DUX, Sony Music Polska, Bearton and Musicon. His six albums have been honoured with the Fryderyk award from the Polish recording industry, and one of them received the International Classical Music Award in the Baroque vocal category. Several albums have been nominated for these awards.
Piotr Olech is also active as a singing teacher. He works at the Music Institute of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He has also collaborated with the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He gives lectures, workshops and masterclasses on the performance of vocal Baroque music. In 2024, he was awarded the title of Professor of Arts in the field of musical arts.
