Organist, specialist and lecturer in Gregorian chant at the Institute of Church Music at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków (organ) and the Ignatianum Academy (pedagogy). She obtained her PhD degree in the philosophy of culture at the Jagiellonian University and her habilitation degree at the Faculty of Instrumentation of the Academy of Music in Kraków. In 2019, she completed a specialisation in Gregorian semiology and palaeography at the Conservatorio di Musica della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (Switzerland). Susi Ferfoglia is the founder and director of the postgraduate course in liturgical monody at the Pontifical University of John Paul II (since 2016) and the founder of the female vocal ensemble Flores Rosarum, which has promoted the works of St Hildegard of Bingen and the Polish monodic tradition since 2007. In addition to her concert activity, Susi Ferfoglia engages in initiatives promoting the performance of Gregorian chant in semiological optics also within the liturgy. By the order of the President of the Republic of Poland, she was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit for developing and popularising Polish musical culture and for her achievements in artistic and scientific activities. She is the director of church music at the Pontifical University of John Paul II, a member of the Archdiocesan Commission for Church Music, the Polish section of the International Society for Studies of Gregorian Chant (AISCGre) and the Association of Polish Church Musicians.
