After studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, soprano Suzanne Jerosme was hired by Theater Aachen and remained a regular member of the ensemble until the 2023/2024 season.

Her wide-ranging repertoire included roles as diverse as Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Blanche de la Force (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Maria (West Side Story), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and Despina (Così fan tutte). She also played Bellezza in Handel’s oratorio Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, the title role in La Calisto, and Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. During her last two seasons in Aachen, she appeared in a number of key roles, including Manon in Massenet’s opera, Mimì in La Bohème, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and the Contessa di Folleville in Il viaggio a Reims. 

In parallel to her work in Aachen, she took part in many international competitions and festivals. As a finalist in the Pietro Antonio Cesti International Baroque Opera Vocal Competition, she was invited by the Innsbruck Early Music Festival to perform the title role in Reinhard Keiser’s opera Octavia. 

The artist has also made her debut in a number of prestigious opera houses. She sung the role of the First Lady in the French version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute led by Hervé Niquet at the Opéra d’Avignon and the Opéra Royal in Versailles. She then made her debut at the Opéra National de Lorraine as Morgana in Handel’s Alcina, directed by Serena Sinigaglia and under the musical direction of Leonardo García Alarcón. She also played the roles of Amore and Valletto in L’incoronazione di Poppea with Ensemble Matheus led by Jean-Christophe Spinosi. 

At the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, she successfully debuted at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, performing the role of Giuditta in Porpora’s Carlo il Calvo. The production, directed by Max Emanuel Cenčić and conducted by George Petrou, was subsequently presented in a concert version in several prestigious concert halls around the world, including the Theater an der Wien, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Milan’s La Scala. 

In addition to her stage performances, she recorded the title role in Cleofida, Königin von Indien (Handel/Telemann) with the Il Gusto Barocco ensemble led by Jörg Halubek. She also sang the part of Ismene in Schmittbaur’s Lindor et Ismene in Cologne with Werner Ehrhardt and L’Arte del Mondo, and took part in a tour with Purcell’s Odes with Damien Guillon and Le Banquet Céleste, performing at the Salle Gaveau in Paris, Nice, Rennes and Poitiers, among other places. She returned to the Theater an der Wien to perform the roles of Sestia in Hasse’s Cajo Fabricio and Lucinda in Caldara’s Il Venceslao under the direction of Martyna Pastuszka. 

Suzanne Jerosme has distinguished herself as a soloist in several major oratorios. She performed Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Vesperae solennes de confessore with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra led by Patrick Marco at the Annecy Classic Festival. Her repertoire also features Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, Mozart’s Mass in C minor and Exsultate jubilate, Brahms’ German Requiem, Poulenc’ s Gloria, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and the role of the Angel in Handel’s La Resurrezione. With Julien Chauvin, she sang recitals dedicated to Mozart and Handel in Avignon and Paris. 

At the Klangvokal Musikfestival in Dortmund, she performed the parts of Sophie in Werther with the WDR Funkhausorchester led by Giacomo Sagripanti, the Angel in Massenet’s La Vierge, and took part in the Accademia Bizantina concert dedicated to Porpora led by Ottavio Dantone. She also sang recitals of Baroque repertoire with Jörg Halubek and Benjamin Bayl and performed the role of Agiley in Handel’s Teseo at the Handel Festival in Halle and in Wrocław. She also sang the title role in Traetta’s opera Rex Salomon at the Innsbruck Early Music Festival under Christophe Rousset. 

In the 2024/2025 season, Suzanne Jerosme appeared as The Angel in La Resurrezione at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris with Le Concert de la Loge led by Julian Chauvin, Zelmira in Armida at the Hans Otto Theater with the Kammerakademie Potsdam, the First Lady in The Magic Flute at the Opera Royal in Versailles with Le Concert Spirituel and Mimì in La Bohème at the Theater Aachen. At the 2025 Innsbruck Early Music Festival, she sang the role of Pilade in Traetta’s Iphigenia, led by Christophe Rousset, and at the 2025 Internationalen Händel-Festspielen at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe she made her debut in the role of Almirena in a new production of Handel’s Rinaldo under Rinaldo Alessandrini.
