Carmina Latina

During the conquest of the Americas, Spanish and Portuguese priests transplanted their tradition of polyphonic music to the New World mainly through Jesuit monasteries and cathedrals. For the Argentinian conductor Leonardo Garcia Alarcón, the music of this period is a fascinating field worth researching and exploring. In the final concert of the Misteria Paschalia 2021 Festival we will hear a combination of sacred and secular musical works, which resounded in the New World in the first years of the Baroque period.
