Ana Vieira Leite

Ana Vieira Leite, Portuguese soprano based in Switzerland, began her musical studies at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga at the age of 5. She performs regularly in opera, oratorio, Lied and contemporary repertoire, as well as with Renaissance and Baroque music ensembles. She is a founding member of O Bando de Surunyo, an ensemble under musical direction of Hugo Sanches specializing in interpretations of the 16th- and 17th-century music.

In September 2019, she made her debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in the production of Philip Glass’s Einstein on the Beach and as Clorinda in Cenerentolina, an adaptation of Rossini’s Cenerentola for children. On the opera stage, she sung Fiordiligi and Despina (Così fan tutte, W.A. Mozart), Polly (The Threepenny Opera, Kurt Weill), Cupidon (Orfée aux enfers, Jacques Offenbach), Spes (Ordo Virtutum, Hildegard von Bingen), La Bohemienne (Les Fêtes vénitiennes, André Campra) and Clarina (La cambiale di matrimonio, Gioacchino Rossini).

In solo repertoire, Ana Vieira Leite performed in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with Joana Carneiro and Gábor Takács-Nagy, and Ruckert-Lieder with Thomas Hauschild.

She has a bachelor degree in singing, a post-graduate degree in opera studies and a master’s degree in artistic interpretation from Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Porto.

Winner of the Concurso Internacional de Música Terras de Santiago at the Festival de Música Cidade de Almada (2018) and Prémio Helena Sá e Costa (2017).

Ana Vieira Leite has the pleasure to have the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal), the Fondation Mosetti (Switzerland) and the GDA Foundation (Portugal).

Currently, Ana is finishing her Master of Arts in Music Performance degree (Concert course) at Haute École de Musique de Genève, Switzerland.
