Maciej Skrzeczkowski specializes in historical keyboard performance, particularly on harpsichord and pianoforte. He has received numerous awards in various piano and harpsichord competitions in Poland and abroad, with the most notable ones being the 3rd prize at the Concorso Internazionale di Clavicembalo in Milan in 2019 (after just three years of studying the harpsichord) and the 1st prize and special Outhere award at the Musica Antiqua harpsichord competition in Bruges in 2023 – possibly one of the most prestigious events of its kind worldwide. He was one of the youngest winners in the long history of this competition, where previous editions had renowned artists such as Jean Rondeau, Bertrand Cuiller, Christophe Rousset, and Pierre Hantaï on the podium.

He has performed in various venues, including the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, the Wanda Landowska in memoriam festival in Warsaw, and the Musica Antica festival in Urbino. In 2019, he took part in the world premiere recording of Roman Palester’s Concertino per clavicembalo e dieci strumenti, featuring the Sinfonia Iuventus orchestra conducted by Łukasz Borowicz at the Polish Radio Concert Studio. He has also become an advocate for the music of Franciszek Lessel, presenting all of the composer’s sonatas in a concert at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2022, and he regularly includes Lessel’s works in his concert programs. In 2024, he has planned concerts in Belgium, a tour in Japan, and the release of an album for the Ricercar label.

Maciej completed his education at the State Music School of the First Degree in Płońsk, studying piano under Anna Koźniewska. He continued his studies at the Zenon Brzewski General Music School of the Second Degree in Warsaw, where he learned piano under Marek Bracha and harpsichord under Beata Popis. Currently, he is studying historical keyboard performance at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague under the guidance of Carole Cerasi, Bart van Oort, and Petra Somlaï.

He has honed his skills by participating in various masterclasses, including those conducted by Skip Sempé, Pierre Hantaï, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Elżbieta Stefańska, Katarzyna Drogosz, Tobias Koch, Nikolai Demidenko, Kristian Bezuidenhout, and Christophe Rousset.
